Dixie Chicks

Ok, back from Walmart. $10 for a red 250 watt heat lamp! Lost 1 chick (long leg ohiki) because of not having a stand by lamp around like I normally do. Everyone else was cold but is starting to move about and run around again. Got everyone fed and watered for the night and now it's off to bed for me.

I know they dont tax retirement also....why it's on the list of possibilitys...not that after all this work anyone is gonna drag me away anytime soon...I moved more then anyone person needs to have moved as a kid...I just moved from an apartment was at for fifteen years lol I hate moving...I done put roots in here now

they're so tiny they won't live long without heat. Apparently the whole group couldn't produce enough heat to keep it going. Or they smothered it huddling while I went to get the lamp.

my chicks are soo darn hardy the light odviously helps in the beginning but wow they sure move away for needing it fast....I know some chicks are way more sensative and less hardy then other breeds wondered if the those chicks are one of them

btw an update on my chicks from my very own chickens... wow they have GREAT little bodys...they are like little softballs with feathers...super impressed with the bulky breast and super round chunky bodys...their bodies are more impressive so far then the dark cornish chicks are at this point and they babys are younger then the dark cornish...I love the feathering coming out on the bamacick cream legbar... such a deep rich reddish chocolatey color...think it is going to be one very striking bird ones it grows up and finishes feathering out... the white bramha's are bit more narrow then i'd like to see they are spunky lil things though...seems like they have a bit of a crest developing just a slight swelling might just be the feathers coming in but they look like they have small tuffs......the blue brahma has a nice bod lil smaller then my wyandottes...I confuse the blue brahma and the blue wyandottes alot.....if it wasnt for the sparse amount of feathers on the legs I might not beable to tell em apart...the leghorn and dark cornish are super flighty things...though I think the leghorn is coming around a bit...one of the gold laced wyandottes I think is going to have some awesome feathering..the silver laced at least two show some good feathering coming in...

Well, we could always do vacays and stay at each others places... I'd take care of your critters and you could take care of ours, lol...
