Dixie Chicks

Jem, tell 50 to build you one immediately. Or how about filling the new build with bunnies?

But seriously, it would be a pretty quick build.

ya I know I just while I really would like to have some rabbit meat...not totally sure I want to go back to it..and have so much trying to get these grounds the way I want and the chicks raised up and settled in I think I have enough on my plate...with the gardens, chickens, and raising the fish...wont be going back east now 50 is going to go in a few weeks then drive back without me :(

I have to say, that so far this one bunny has been pretty low maintenance. Of course we do socialize with her a bit more than what would be necessary, but the daily maintenance doesn't really take more than a few minutes. The only cleaning that needs to be done in that pen is turning the toilet box litter, and changing it out once a week. Once I remember to buy a kitty litter scoop and start collecting the poop as fertilizer, I can probably manage 2-3 weeks with the same litter. We give her feed two or three times a day at the moment (because she's eating a lot more while making milk), and fill the water bottles every few days.

We are having issues with planning a weekend vacation around our chicken stuff.
Krista and I got hitched on my birthday so I could remember. Its coming up in 2 weeks. I set eggs April 22. I have alot of eggs shipping May 11.

Yep, that is a bit tricky with the timing.

Here is Sally, look full enough for ya?

Brinny is packed solid.... A bunch are hatching on Monday though... Which sure is good, because I am already collected for another hatch.

Right now the incubators are holding eggs for three separate hatch dates.... Not too bad, still manageable.

My fancy shmancy Marans eggs showed up today... WOW! Most of them are not that dark. Interesting, sure I have fertility issues, and sure my Marans are far enough off of SOP that everyone on the Marans thread wants to barf when they see them... But at least my chickens lay dark eggs.

I am still happy that I bought the new eggs though... I am hoping for a rooster with better fertility.... And these are also fancy colors. I am hoping that her chicks mixed up with my chicks will produce what I want. I got all Copper Marans, but some are blue and some are Lavender.

One has a small crack.... Should I ignore the crack? Drip beeswax on it? Votes?
