Dixie Chicks

probobly....

crazy people and their fads....

I wonder how many genetic issues are common with the Legbars.

That is the nice thing with my Leghorns and Dominiques..... you pick up one of their eggs and guess what, at least 9 times out of ten the thing is actually fertilized.

AND, you put a leghorn or dominique egg into the incubator... and the things actually incubate, and out pop live healthy chicks... WOWSERS! A miracle!

For hard liquor I actually prefer Jameson or a good gin with some tonic... I would like to taste the apple pie though. I have heard so much about it.

I like good wine the dryer the better... Cabernet Merlot goes so well with some cheese and crackers...

Tequila is not a friend of mine..... I like it but it doesnt like me....

No pip holes, no zip lines, nothing. I set the eggs at 10pm Monday night April 6th. So those little chickies better start pipping and zipping tonight!

Yesterday was crazy......DH went looking for the dog in the morning. I worked on housework. (Pouring rain-again).
Then he got home & decided we should go to this chicken swap to replace the chickens Pepper killed. So, I jumped at that chance!!! I ended up getting an Easter Egger, barred rock, & black jersey giant. All hens. The Easter Egger laid a green egg on the way home!!! LOL! They are in the quarantine pen right now and (of course) I noticed one has a cough. Now I am freaking out a bit. Never bought any from a swap meet. There were tons of birds there, some were soaked from the earlier rain, some were getting whipped around by the wind, some were crowded in cages so badly it was pitiful. The man I bought from had the best looking ones and the conditions he had them in were not bad. May be my 1st and last time buying from a swap.

As far as chicken math goes, I had 106 last week, DHs dog killed 3. So then I had 103. I bought 3 at swap. So, then I had 106 again.....Not done!!!

Found the dog. DH is SUPER LUCKY! Neighbors called & had her penned up because she attacked and killed some of their chickens. They could have called the dog shelter and we could've faced some hefty fines. I gave them 2 of my good laying hens and they also wanted a rooster!!!!

ANYTIME anyone wants a rooster, I've got a rooster to give!!!! So, we took my chickens over there and fetched up his stupid dog. She had also apparently got into it with a skunk. It was just a couple streets over, but it was a LONG RIDE

Back down to 103 again.

Well, I gotta get ready for work. Hope the day at work goes quick! I just want to watch those eggs hatch!

Yay, time for mini duckies soon.

I'm going to try to get a good angle with the trail cam tonight, in 7-8 hours we might have some baby bunny footage. Yesterday Hilma went to the nest around 2230, but it's possible she also went in there sometime in the morning. We had the cam on all night, that bunny sure is an active nocturnal animal. She was downstairs jumping about at least once every hour.
