Dixie Chicks

nah, they had the dog with them, and so I got to meet him... he is SUPER low energy, really just a lap dog in the true sense of the word.... And I actually think that he would be scared of a baby chick. ... not that he would ever have access to chicks..... but just he has ZERO prey drive.

Looking at him I was thinking that my Muscovy drake cold probably kill him.

the girl is worried that he is eagle bait, and I told her yep, he sure is, keep an eye on him.

And yep, they were really nice, my kind of people.....and I can't tell you how happy that I am that they both have year round employment. That is SO HARD to find here, so pretty golden.

oh yea, last year when I was trying to rent the same place, a couple viewed it, and really liked it and wanted to rent it.... then told me that neither one of them had jobs yet....... but that he did spray paint art, and was really good, and that alone could make him a few hundred in cash a month.

You should have seen my jaw hit the floor.

They said that they "had jobs lined up"

whatever. I told them that they were great, but I just couldn't rent to someone without a steady job.

I rent my shacks to people without steady jobs..... but those are tiny little boxes with no water, and wood heat, and no road access and only cost $200 a month. If they get a bit behind, I just wait until they get a job, and then they can pay me a few months at once. It all works just fine. I think my green cabin is only 8x10.

Yeah, no point kicking someone out if you think they'll pay eventually, if finding a new tenant is difficult.

MY GOD, THE SUN IS SHINING! WOOHOO! And look at this lawn, it's starting to bounce back. I aerated the part closest here a few days ago, it was pretty trampled down after the winter.
