Dixie Chicks

If you were in US, I'd give ya the 2 Bresse I have. Think they're 4 weeks old or so. Not gonna keep them, their eggs came as extras in a group I got.

I need to stay away from these big single Combs... It's a bad year for humidity, but I don't want to risk giving bird frost bite anymore... You can tell how much the cold is affecting these big single combs even before they have frostbite... I need pea comb up here. My Easter egger roo has never had a problem like that... But Thank you :)

Do you not like them or just not interested? I don't know anything about them.

That goes for a lot of the breeds though. I'm try to get to just heritage breeds, but I keep finding different one I'm interested in. My ducks however are driving me crazy! About half of them are headed to freezer camp soon. My god they eat a lot!

You're welcome! :) Not really a big fan of the single combs either, but I ended up with a bunch cuz I like the breeds, lol.

Bresse are great! They are amazing foragers and are the only chicken (as far as I know) that can live totally on grass. But, they're white. I know white feathers are best on meat birds (they don't leave big, dark and very visible pin feathers when plucked) but white birds are the first ones targeted by predators here, especially winged predators. I'm not raising food for the wildlife, lol.

2 of my pekin ducks that went missing a couple months back.... After a lot of hunting for signs of predators and watching and setting up trail cameras.... I'm convinced that it was a 2 legged creature that got them. There is now a couple surprises waiting if they were to come back!

That is just messed up, JW12! I can never understand people like that, just don't get it.

hennible, yeah, free ranging does have its drawbacks. We're already letting a buffet loose, I don't like sending out signal flares pointing out the direction to it. lol
