Dixie Chicks

couldn't you see a giant silkie? A giant fluffball running at you.

Yikes! The ones I have already bite my toes when I feed them!
I didn't think I'd like them, but I had to have fibro birds after the cemani crosses didn't pan out. I really like the fluffballs, a lot more active than I figured they would be. Very curious, inquisitive, friendly, way more personable than the other chickens.

silkies are the special children of the chicken world. Leghorns are the mental ward.

ok just out of curiosity because I think everyone has added a breed or two this season what breeds of chickens or fowl of anything does everyone have now? I dont think I heard what kind you had either @seminolewind (just that you have pet chickens?)

did anymore chickens come back @RavynFallen ?

I was just thinking about taking pictures. If it stops thundering I'll run out.. I have 5 JG's , 4 Speckled sussexs , 11 Polish, 3 snuggly Houdans, 1 Faverolle, 11 silkies, one BO, 3 Crevecoeur .

11 are 7-8 years old. 5 are known roosters. Silkie roos ???? Most have names. My flock has Marek's. But most of the deaths have been from immunesuppression caused by Marek's. 4 geese, and a Tennessee Walking horse. All makes for an interesting life, LOL

what are the intials? I'm always forgetting the alphabet soup for the birds?

so they are strictly pets? you cant eat the eggs or anything?

guineas I got three days ago.
I'll take a pic of the waterer in a minute
I miss my Guineas.... I plan on doing mostly Guinea Fowl when I get back home and rebuild.

hope you have a good sized brooder they can fly by the time they are about two weeks.. I am not talking motoring up and over the side of the tub.... I am talking six feet straight up.... By now they are walking around with some wing feathers growing... in two weeks they will look like they are carrying two umbrellas under their arms.... so they fly high just not good so they are easy to catch with a net.
