wow thats really good odds for the lavander isnt it?

ok and if I recall right I thought chocolate genetic was somehow linked with the lavander gene? or am I totally odd my rockers and misremembering? breeding back to black is to strengthen the gentics of the recessive lavanders corruption right/

is there a visual way to tell the difference between lavender and blue?

Blues *should be* darker... but is easy to mix them up... that's one of the reasons stated why you should never breed blues and lavs together...

Although you can see the visual difference once the feathers come in... blue should always have lacing (edge of feathers lined w/darker blue) and lav feathers should always be even colored all over...

Chocolate is linked to mauve... lavender is a recessive of black... yes, lavender feathers are susceptible to fretting (tattered looking feathers) and should be bred back to blacks with good feathers to help correct...

And yes, I got very good odds from 3 lav and 3 black split hens... :)

Pant, pant..... I finished reading.......

I like using wire cutters to cut the flight feathers on my muscovy, since they are so thick, I like using fingernail clippers on parrots.

I always cut both wings..... Cut more so they can fly less.... Cut less so they can fly more.....

I like cutting both wings so that they can fly evenly.... Nothing worse than trying to fly away from a predator and circling back into its jaws.
