Thanks for the input about the little goats guys. Yep, you're right Alaskan, they CAN find the craziest things to get into. Had a tannanbam (sp.?) momma goat when I was on the farm that decided to have her kids (pl.) in the middle of a huge storm. Those two would get themselves into all kinds of trouble, especially after they learned how to open the screen door to my kitchen, even when I locked it! All three of them just had to be with people, especially me. I just loved them. Yes, goats can be a real pain, but no animal can make you laugh like a goat. I also don't know about the mini's, but a regular goat will protect the other animals. I do know a burro or donkey would be a better "watch dog" but not as entertaining and require more care (farrier etc.)

Well, time to get busy and do my chores (played hooky at the county fair yesterday)

I found this in one of the quail cages this morning. You'd call that a quail fart egg? And it's blue!!!There are 2 females in that cage, one laid a huge one and the other a more normal one by the evening check yesterday. So this one was laid over night....

That is adorable and awesome!! I've heard of quail that laid blue but never seen them...

Interestingly enough, they've been laying for 1 1/2 weeks and this is the first blue egg!

That's weird... and they always say birds egg colors never change...

I've got some that lay that blue (actually if you look inside a quail egg they are all.blue) but the brown overlay hides the color.

Yeah, i've notice that the insides are blue. I was just very surprised how tiny this egg is. Can't wait to put it on the scale tonight.

Actually, when I spotted this tiny thing I wasn't sure if this was a big poop so used the scraper to get it closer for inspection.
