Dixie Chicks

So cute @RavynFallen !
Thanks, I think so too, lol... :)
spoiled duck! She was on guard when the cat came up behind her!
Yep! Her and Boots have history though, lol... she bites the others noses so they leave her alone... Boots chases her when she tries that now... and she does not share her mushrooms... first time she saw them she jumped up directly into my plate... :p
@minihorse927 , Here's King Tut! He's the old rooster I bought from you. His comb was frostbit even more last winter. He now looks like some kind of fighting rooster (tell the mods he is NOT). He now has babies :D
Handsome looking roo!

Right now hobby and I don't want profit. If someone was interested in raising white giants or sussex down the road I'd sell some cheap, or give away. I've given away plenty of ducks through the yrs.

In the future profit and hobby. Why I decided on white giants and giant fibro silkies. There is a nich market for both, capons and black meat silkies. For the next five or ten yrs the plan is to just get my flock where I want them.
Deciding factor on whether or not I go commercial will be if we can afford to move to a place with more land, have to get rid of some kids first. When the wife goes back to work will be a big help.
I don't expect to make a living of it but figure it should pay for itself and keep our freezer full of large roasting capons.
Great plan. I love seeing someone turn their hobby into a business. Just jumping into a business and thinking it will all work out and and learn as you go in a business does not make sense to me but to say learn as you go with a hobby does make sense to me. I think a person really enjoys what they do and had earned their wings learning and growing before a bigger investment. Lets face it, even a hobby is an investment.

We had some spiders in our house that looked like black widows but the underbelly hourglass wasn't red. Then wife reads they are not red when they are young! Bug bombed whole house, two bombs in the cellar.
Then I see this huge spider by the garage, weed wacked all around garage.
