That poor person all bundled up. Those people are much stronger than me! I would definitely freeze to death. I hate cold weather & wonder why I moved back to Ohio from Georgia.......? Crazy.

Turkey is in the oven. Our food list is ridiculous for the amount of people coming. Since getting in a fight with dad a month ago, neither him nor step mom has called. So, my family got smaller. I am so glad my kids and I never have to deal with them again though. My brothers and their families will be here, our grown kids, except for one out of state, and sister in law's family.

What's everyone's favorite thanksgiving day food? Mine is broccoli casserole. Hands down! Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving!

My favorite part of the turkey is the parsons nose and usually the part that falls off when i get it out of the pan. That and the wings go on a plate for me. My turkey this year is a small twelve pounder so it should roast up pretty quickly. I made all the side dishes yesterday and precoocked them they will only have to go back in the oven to be warmed up.

Cranberry/honey glazed Yams. the Yams were cooked in the microwave then peeled and cut into slices.. I arranged them in the casserole dish and prepared the glaze. So they will get glazed then put in the oven today.
I made double boxes of Dressing and cooked it on the stove.

So really all I have to do is roast the turkey. We roast in a tinfoil tent so all the juices or most of them stay in the pan. Turkey was too small to stuff.

Oh and I am going to nuke some potatoes for smash potatoes. I mash em up skin and all.

And Oh yeah there will be Pie.

There is one community here that gets cold enough for apples. Its called Julian. there is a company there called Julian Pie company...
Vons just started carrying them Up till now you had to drive sixty miles to buy pie.

Raw oysters

Never had them at Thanks Giving... But I can eat em as fast as the guy can shuck em....

Mom used to make scalloped oysters and scalloped corn, my favorite scalloped oysters. Haven't had them in yrs. Except a couple yrs ago sis in law made something 'new' scalloped corn Lol, hers was terrible!
Love candied sweet taters with the marshmallows also.

Oyster Stew
I have made Oyster stew... like clam chowder but with chunks of oyster OH YUMM.

Fried Oysters
And I have made fried Oysters.... fried with a light flour coating.

Oysters on the half shell
I discovered raw Oysters at a company party. They had a about two or three bushels of em and a guy that all he did was shuck and serve.... OMYG.

Oyster Shooters
but by far my favorite way is to have them raw is chunked into portions that will fit in a shot glass a couple of drops of Tobasco and a special Ponzu sauce. Topped with finly shredded scallions and grated ginger... then toss the whole thing in sooo good. When you chew the oysters all the other flavors bring out the sea.
