Hey Beautiful! you didnt tell me you were gonna set! I run at 100.5 calibrated spot on temps, rotating eggs n the bator often.
this chart shows ultimate incubation temps from studies.
so I've been rethinking how I want to do things this time... I think I will have them inside the first week then I want to have them in the greenhouse under lights... I figure any excess heat off the light will help the greenhouse stay a bit warmer so can get some seedlings going............. I have to totally clean out the greenhouse 50 has turned it into a temporary storage spot for stuff.... with how much he complained that would happen to his shop...he should be ashamed for doing it to my space grumble grumble lol
Stop teasing her Alaskan...hee hee... Recall she likes pretty and used fishing nets, oh that don't have me thinking too pretty!
Anyone that has never smelt a used fishing net has no idea what they have in store for themselves. Breathe deeply, eh.
Heck, I put myself thru college and university working summers cleaning salmon at a fish cannery for union wages...I LOVE cleaning the catch and I do have a VERY strong stomach but even I can say, "Yikes!" to a used fishing net in my bird yard.
Over thirty years ago, we were helping a friend that had a rented storage unit (northern end of Van Isle) and asked them..."What's that smell?" Fisheries and Oceans had rented the end storage bay for confiscated fishing nets--they could seize your boat, trailer, truck to haul trailer and yer GEAR...even in Port Hardy where it rarely gets much past 25C in summer...holey Hannah...what a reek.
Maybe there is some secret to how to sterilize fishing nets that have been used...but I am thinking bleach would make them brittle and not sure what would be strong enough to get rid of the stench without destroying the nets! My instant knee jerk is that burning would be good....
I know by hanging up such a sweet welcoming calling card, you would be attracting flies, helping maggots get thru their life cycles, teaching ratz to climb better than they already do, and I am betting the very first black bear will swim the Straight to come visit the lovely hanging air freshener.
"Smells like fish...where's the fish...me luv the fishies...oh lookit, a chook, num...a duck...yum...and on and on!"
Al, he had blood caked up in the nostrils. Probably more of an issue with chickens, as the comb is a good target in a fight, and has loads of blood flow, but something to keep an eye out for if your birds are hurt and don't want to eat.
