I'm not really fond of sheep. There used to be a sheep farm next to Blount Cultural Park and ASF when I was a kid. They still have bronze sheep statues at the park. I had a Nubian/Boer doe as a kid and I've loved goats ever since. Her story almost ended badly. Her mom rejected her and the owner didn't have time to bottle feed her. We came along, knew next to nothing about goats, and ended up taking her home. I was about 9 when we got her and she passed when I was in my early 20s. We paid $48 for her. Now I really want Nigerian Dwarf Goats.

I don't like ducks.

Hee hee...I like sheep better than goats--goat antics just rub me the wrong way...basically, we got the goats because everyone kept calling my sheep GOATS...hee hee and I needed an examples to SHOW them in the flesh. It got so bad I even put big signs on our ram pulled covered wagon with red letters stating SHEEP...good gack.

Years back when I went to the sales, then we'd be safe going together...and would enable each other.

"Oh look, there's a goat...you better buy it..."

I loved my Nigerian Dwarfs Little short Stuffs. but I couldnt commit to milking. adn yep I know you can leave the kid with the doe and set it up so you only have to milk once per day. My goats were entertainment and weed abatment... So I will do Wethers again.

Check out Kinder goats. Their what I want someday, but like deb said gotta be able to commit to milking. They are excellent for meat also. Maybe when I retire. .

Thankfully I know the difference. Even before my mom decided she want a goat as a pet. She lived inside for years and we walked her like a dog. Actually, she did think she was a dog. Her first and last encounter with a buck didn't end well for the buck.

Quote: I would probably only milk once a day since I would probably be the only one drinking it. I like the way they look.
