Dixie Chicks

Me too.....

I KNOW that to be a "proper" breeder you need multiple pens for each breed..... and since I can't add more pens (well, maybe a few more tractors this next summer...but that will not help much...) I should REALLY reduce breeds...but sheesh...not enough willpower here. :idunno

Et tu? :gig

Reduced and regrew here too... :/

But what can we do? We just gotta do what we can with what we have... :D

back at, roughly... :gig

Then you WIN :yesss:

Since you clearly got rid of what you didn't like all that much anyway...and now have stuff that you like better!

Also geese rock! They eat almost zero pelleted feed if they have lawn to graze, and they are large enough that as long as you have five or more your predator problems are pretty low.

so far I only have the pair. I hope to be able to hatch and keep some next year.

All the extra random breeds are gone. Everything I have now is stuff in breeding (except the amberlinks). They were originally purchased to be raised up part way and sold but their personalities got them a reprieve.

I have one cockerel... I refuse to look at him in case he is horrid...

My pullets... I think I have only 3.... I kept the best... but I think I only had 10 to choose from.... It blew my mind that the chicks were in general so much worse than their parents. I think the issue is wheaten is a tricky color.

I like my standard blacks better... since it is just black, you can focus on form etc. pretty exclusively.

That blue cockerel I got for free is still an aggresive putz. Haven't killed him... I really want the blue. :idunno He is fine conformation etc. wise....

Are you still focusing on calls? Taking over the earth with their offspring?

Um... well... maybe... :gig

400

Actually I'm not really hatching more of them right now (besides they stopped laying for the season, lol) and am picking out my keepers now...

Been working on hatching from my Cemani trio, my other half wanted those really bad, and getting some nice grow outs there...

I sold off most of my original Am's and am picking up a super gorgeous black trio from Susan this weekend...

Would love to see yours still...

Ha! So the only reason you are not taking over the world with Calls... is because they are depriving you of eggs! :lau

I will see if I can get photos to share... but not sure....

The flock is looking a bit ratty at the moment.
