And why did your backend pick a ditch to sit in that was so expensive to pull it back out of?

Two weeks back I was driving down the drive..totally ticked off at eldest and trying to call him at same time...and drove my car into the ditch.

I had to drag it for over 30 feet with the plow truck before I got it popped out.

So Thursday. ..I was plowing and after 6 hours of plowing...I was headong back to my house, trying to push the berms back a bit more. I knew I was coming to the soft spot (where my car had punched through the berm two weeks back), I knew I had to let up soon, but a bunch of snow right then popped up over my hood cutting off visibility and into the ditch I went.

:D

Ain't I a peach?

Sounds a heck of a lot classier escapade than mine would have been!

Mine would've involved an angry broody duck jumping in my lap or escaped chickens freaking out... or... :D ;)

The expensive backhoe coming to lift my back end out of the ditch.
Which one of you did it?

I'm betting you didn't call yourself a peach at the time.

I'm still alive! I missed y'all, but I needed a break from absolutely everything. I'm happily down to 5 chickens and I'm getting ready to start beekeeping. Things were pretty rough and I wasn't really handling anything too well. I just sorta planted my butt on the couch and said to crap with everything. I'm not proud that I shut down so hard, but I'm back to my happy self again. I've started free ranging to offset feed costs. It's actually doing my birds a lot of good.

I'm just really happy to be back... before my GFM runs out.

Actually...what is so funny is when I first ran the plow truck into the ditch I sat there for a bit just thinking what a mess I had made.... i was at a 45 degree angle (on the uphill side of the driveway, so no danger of rolling down the hill) and just thinking what a pain..... the driveway is narrow there...so no way to drive past..... and kid number three comes jogging down the road towards me, in a short sleave shirt... he comes up, opens the door and says kindly "did you get stuck?"

My shouted "crud" had echoed across the snow over 200 feet and around the house to where the kid was.

I first tried for one hour with a burly tow truck..... but my plow truck just wasn't towable...needed to be lifted.

Glad to hear you crawled up out of the pit.

Nice to see ya again.
