Dixie Chicks

here is the table I was talking about blow molded plastic HDPE... food grade and sterilizeable.

I would fold up the legs or take them off

and build a frame to set it in. When I have a workstation I want it to be sturdy enough to support my weight for balance... Dont trust folding legs

@vehve

Yep you are right.... I like that idea even better.... and fasten the fawcet to the wall like a farm house faucet I am horribly right handed so I prefer to work from right to left.... so then I could turn it around and put the sink on the left....

Here is another that I like as well.... though there are loose parts that would need to be stowed when not in use

There are two sinks ther plus a garbage drop the garbage drop has fittings to hold a trash bag.

Punky said go bigger... Ok no, he said 24 feet is easier than 20, which to me meant go bigger... This is it! I can't think of anything else... The nursery room and baby chick pen could double as a hospital space, there's enough pens to keep the ducks away from the chickens and to have more ducks and have more chickens, room to do selective breeding... I could even choose to have a group of girls with no Roos or a Bachelor group... :weee
Melt snow melt!!!!!

Yup, it's pretty handy. Has Punky cleared the snow already?
Yup now he is napping
Something like that could be built so that it folds out from a wall. That would be a lot more stable than that kind of folding legs, and since it's only used periodically, it would save space.
Oh good idea
One in our town and one in the next one.. but they don't kill. There is one butcher in the next town and he only does cattle.
Bummer

That looks pretty darn handy

Deb, rubber straps over that would keep them in place, you'd want to clean it prior to processing anyway so the fact that they might harbor some bacteria would probably not be an issue. I'd rather go with steel over plastic though, for some reason it feels cleaner to me. Plus a knife wouldn't leave scores that offer hiding places for bacteria.

With regard to others processing.... there are no places in San Diego county that will process chickens. None Zip Nada....

there is one mobile processor that used to setup his tools at a ranch in Lakeside and he did them for two bucks a piece... he would advertise on Craigslist... He came to town once a month. I dont see his ads any more.

There are enough of us like minded people here in San Diego that I could find someone to do it. And I will learn how from one of them.

But there is one thing that I have to consider.... I have my poultry sixty miles out in the desert. that means I have to catch said birds put them into a container and drive sixty miles one way to have them processed. Then I have to have a way to keep them cold on the way back another sixty miles.

So when and if I start this I want to be set up so that I can do five or six birds at a time.... Because when i do it I will be doing a years worth of cornish x at a time. plus the occasional muscovy. I want an area that is designated for the job... Secure from Feral dogs and coyotes and racoons And contamination. A place where I can keep the equipment safe and secure and not co-mingle with the house hold.

This will be hopefully the place where I can process Guineas as well for sale... I still have to figure out the requirements for selling to restaurants. so yep I am thinking big.... If it takes stainless steel I will do it. I can start out with the folding table but in order to convert I have to plan for space for the bigger permanent sink.
