btw I been thinking of custard lately and wanted to make a custard with a carmel glaze over the top anyone have any good recipes suggestions ect? I havent done a custard in forever but thought be good use for eggs
sounds like what I am wantingFlan.... you make the carmel glaze at the same time you cook the custard.....Its very easy..... look it up online. But all the recipes I have read is you carmelize sugar and pour it in the bottom of the custard pan... if it hardens no worries that will change while the custard cooks... then make your custard and pour it on top of the carmelized sugar..... And bake. Water bath under the pan as per most custard recipes....![]()
one you turn the custard out the carmel will dribble down the sides but most of it will be absorbed by the first layer of the custard.... the liquid that comes down the sides is very watery.... but OMG its goood.....![]()
Look up Flan Recipes there may be more than I am telling you.... I havent made it in a very very long time.

btw does anyone know what dixie might be male female type or breed, thought I would ask y'all before I go hunting through a million baby chick pictures........I keep thinking the yellow chick with a racing stripe down the back wiggling at my memory but I cant put a finger on it........and other then a hen sitting in a nest box not leaving any hints might be broody or not?
