Even the cafeteria is terrible at the cafeteria where my Daughter-in-law is in the hospital.

My daughter is NOT a picky eater. She will eat most anything, but she will not eat the schools food and I don't blame her! They have whole grain everything. Even pizza day is whole grain, non fat cheese. She calls their food "whole gross"! We eat whole grain bread and spaghetti at home and they serve it at school, but she says the school's food tastes much different-gross.

I was very lucky when I was in the hospital after giving birth to her. I had to stay a couple days and they had awesome food. They have menus and you order what you want.

When i was in the hospital for my Csection I wasnt there long enough to get a meal at least I dont remember one. I was on Medi-Cal at the time and the longest stay they would allow was 24 hours. I dont think i ate for a couple of days... Home with Tape across my gut a new born single first time parent.... Heck i had never even held a baby before my son.

Mom came over for the first couple of days but she pitched a fit and left me saying I was starving that baby.... She was mad because I wasnt bottle feeding.... Grandma came over for a day or two after that...

I would have loved to have been allowed to stay at least two days with some nurses to walk me through those first few days...

Mental hospitals have the most delicious food. When I was visiting my dw they would bring me a plate

Outpost, non-fat cheese, and other nonfat foods have ten times the ingredients in them, you don't want to know, fat HAS to be healthier. Non-fat dairy has besides tons of other stuff, supposedly 'food grade' white paint in them to make them white. Titanium dioxide usually.

Hospital food might not be very good but when one of our daughters was born a month early with complications she was sent to a huge hospital in Syracuse NY. The cafeteria food there was four star, best I've ever had including nice restaurants. It was the first time I had seafood gumbo, and it had tons of seafood.

@hennible I went and checked for eggs and was looking at our polish, her head isn't as poofy as a show one. That pic might be of a hen at that angle. Her tail got ruffed up when I took her inside to get a better pic, it was a mistake thinking four little kids could hold her still.
