awesome @RavynFallen
you'll have to share some pictures... what kind of soil do you have there to deal with.. we have very sandy soil here makes drainage good or having to dig in it

Sorry, didn't mean to go so in depth, have been studying the genetics side lately, lol... I wanna try a Blue Copper Maran Roo over a CCL hen for a sex-linked olive egger...

I'll try to get pics when I'm not in danger of sliding backwards downhill ;)
Bad drainage soil here, it is a heavy clay based mix, unlike yours... but we have very similar weather, lots of rain, overcast and very high humidity... just missing the tang of the salt air that you have, can you send me some, please? lol I love TN, but I sooo miss WA...

soo everyone thinks spike is a pullet ok......good then I am not totally loosing my mind thinking it was as well I guess time will tell

actually I dont have tooooooooooooo much to complain about coldwise here it's not like @vehve or @Alaskan or even
@hennible 's weather...though I am watching close how she deals with the humidity in her cold.............we don't generally get below freezing except a couple weeks out of the winter and we havent gotten snow yet but we usually get it in january anyways I think it's about 45ish atm I'm just having a pain day today and whenever I do I always get mega sensative to the cold...............

Yea, dh gets pain too when it's cold. It snowed once (just a little) I think 2 years ago. It might have been last January, not sure. Either way, I like a little snow every now and then.

I don't mind it when it doesnt sitck around ..something just for a lil change can be fun and its beautiful but I dont even want to live somewhere I got to shovel snow and deal with it on a daily living basis I'd rather visit snow LOL then live in it

Lucky for me... Or more lucky for the roosters the humidity dropped down to the 50s today and their combs actually already look better thank goodness. I'm thinking maybe I can help deal with humidity by switching out the hay I use and use pine shavings like I was told to do a while ago...

noooo need to be sorry it's a great topic!! I just personally trying not to dig too deep cuz I can spend days n days with that stuff it really captures my brain and fascinates me lol @Sharps Big 50 has been trying to convince me we need to move to TN....I am not buying it wayyy to much snow and stuff lol and lots of heat...beautiful area though we plan on going back doing lots more exploring there e hit a couple caverns there last year was great the names of them elude me atm though lol... whats CCL I am not totally up on my chicken Initials yet lol sure I have plenty you can see the sound from my porch :)

I'm a bit worried. Karin mentioned something about keeping bunnies for meat, and I didn't immediately shoot down the idea. I'm afraid she's already planning a bunny hutch for our miniscule yard. They are tasty though.

My bunnies are doing so good! I have got to get pics for you all. It's dark when I go to work, and dark when I get home most days. Anyways the bunnies are not costing near the money that the chickens do! But the egg sales are picking up and they are making their own feed money. Just barely breaking even though.

Got more posts to read, just wanted to add my 2 cents. Let her get the bunnies
