Silver City, NM, doesn't have much there...BUT it is a foodie destination. The restaurants and eateries are outstanding. DH and I sat down to lunch in one café which was in the old depot (now a strip mall) and had a fried avocado (surprisingly good) and then I ordered up a bleu cheese and sautéed mushrooms hamburger that arrived on a plate just flooded with melted bleu cheese. It was just perfect. (I am of the belief that the sloppier the burger, the better)

If it weren't such a long drive I'd be there in a heartbeat to gladly raise my cholesterol.

@Amberjem have you tried 'real blue cheese'? I was never a fan of blue cheese dressing.
Went to a fancy shmancy wedding reception, buffet style. And they were serving the best prime rib I've ever had. And they had a huge block of blue cheese, it was delicious! I ate hunks of it with that bloody prime rib. And went back for seconds of both ( no salad for me just meat and some more of that cheese) Huh...Now thinking back there was free beer and I was getting two at a time so I could pound one before I got back to our table with the other cause the wife was trying to limit me...many many beers..
yes not to my tastes delights lol, I like more of the milder types of cheese..........though I have had a few exceptions...
