I don't know why but your story reminded me of when I first stated dating my wife. Her 90+ yr old Grandmother lived with them, she fell down got hurt and couldn't take care of herself anymore. I didn't think she was coherent, just saw her eat and read books, (and fart every time she went down the hallway to her room Lol) never heard her talk. One day a couple months after 'hanging out' there we were watching Jeopardy and the final question was in German, their Grandma came from Germany to the U.S. at 16, my wife's brother looks at Gram and starts to ask and she blurts out "I don't know either!!!" WOW! and I thought she was out of it, she probably got more questions right on Jeopardy than we did! The answer, or 'question' was what is a panda bear in German.

You betcha I will. Your wifes Grandma was hilarious.... Mine can be... Boy let a good looking man like a paramedic come in the house and shes fluttering her eyelashes and flirting away...

grandma can remember stuff back when she was for or five years old. She was born in 1916. when She was born her oldest brother was in the army during World War 1.

She remembers the first time they ever saw a flush toilet. On their way to California and a new life they stayed in their first hotel. In those days there was one toilet on a floor and every one had to use it. She and her sister went together and when it was time to flush..... They RAN... they thought they had broke it.

hey guys got to get up early tomorrow is the day... I leave here at six thirty to get coffeee on the way to moms house then off to go to surgery... This hospital is about three miles from Mexico.

Once the cataracts are gone and she gets her new glasses I home mom will be able to join us for dinner a couple of times per week. She needs that so do we.

About the cinderblock houses, I think the reason they work in the desert is that it gets a lot colder in the night than in the day. And the people living in them there are used to hotter climates as well. Our house is built of brick, so it works pretty much the same way as a cinderblock house, it keeps the inside at a nice temp, but last summer we had about a month of over 30C weather, then it got a bit warm here. And since the days are so long in the summer, you've got the sun heating the house for 18 hours per day. Doesn't leave much time to cool off. We don't have AC, only a ventilation system, so can't use that for cooling down either.

well honestly we maybe get a week of discomfort heat wise here......course I came from hot n progressed my way to this arctic weather haha ...I was cold when I moved to cali from texas.........so glad didnt move to here from texas I woulda never warmed up..I had the heater on for like two years I lived here in the beginning lol. Between the woods and the sea breeze generally it stays very comfortable....usually when the breeze dies out in the hot part of summer does it get uncomfy...what was it two years ago the country was having heat waves everywhere BUT here...it's been rare the temp gets over 90... generally 75 85 is the max for summer.......

80 is close to my max comfort level... I like cooler weather better.

We're having problems deciding what kind of a rabbit hutch to build. Now we're back to considering a green roof again.

Thanks this was an eye opener. been dealing with social anxiety all his life... Hes got some meds now... hopefully it will help him even it all out to a manageable level.

Just read about them... Somewhere I saw design for a small coop with a green roof...
