Dixie Chicks

:frow morning everyone (I know its afternoon locally, but still morning for me.)

I crashed hard last evening, then woke up at 10 pm thinking it was morning.

Caught up on some much needed sleep.

I'm waiting to see pics of Jem's newly arrived chicks!

dang must still be asleep..thought I asked does anyone use poultry shrink bags for processing their chickens?

ummm how so @sourland ? n good morning :)
didn't I answer that?

I stick them in a grocery bag in the fridge if it is for a couple of days, I will do multi layers of saran wrap if I will freeze them, diced up poultry goes in zip locks

Jem, sprouts aren't doing well... I think I've been overwatering. Major mold issues. Trying again with strict twice a day watering. Peas liked it wet though, sadly the chickens were less enthusiastic.

We almost had sun today. For about 5 minutes it was slightly brighter outside, the sun was shining through a thinner cloud cover. Then it got gloomy again. Looks like at least the next two weeks will be more of the same. But the snow is slowly retreating. Once we get a bit of sun going, that lawn is going to grow like crazy. The chickens clearly think it's spring already, when they're let out in the morning they're combing through the exposed areas, and Eemeli is clucking like crazy for his ladies.
Try a rinse with bleach water, I little bit of bleach in the water

great on the darling Buff Orp vid! YAY!

Jem, those two chicks at the DNR eagle cam don't look quite right to me. Hope they are ok.
The Decorah Cam eagle is fine...three eggs so far.

edited to add: wow! the DNR single chick is just fine. I was looking at prey fodder that the eagles had brought into the nest...not chicks. rofl The pair were both on the nest just now, switching off, and the dad left and the mom carefully fed the hatched chick. Priceless to observe. Thanks again for the link, Jem.
