Has anyone discovered no one is giving away boxes any more?

All over here.. stop by either 'bulk grocery store' (even though we are a town of about 5K, we have one regular grocery store and two bulk stores)

Both Bulk groceries have lots of boxes, the liquer stores are always good too.

I miss my leghorns, we ordered more of the rosecomb browns.

I LOVE my rose comb leghorns... their personalities and looks, but both the white and dark brown do NOT lay eggs as often or as large as my regular production white single comb Leghorns....... SIGNIFICANT drop.... like a sad drop

Hopefully the ones I am getting this spring from a different breeder will be better.

Spring cleaning now. Not waiting for Spring. If Spring wont come to me, I will come to Spring.

Has anyone discovered no one is giving away boxes any more? We have to buy those things. And everyone sells them. Whatever happened to the corner old fashioned general store and grocery store ( now the pump and munch) and their boxes? They are smashed and bundled for the recyclers and their contract.
I have to go buy them from Lowes.
Thats it. The soft stuff like clothes are going in giant black hefty trash bags. The boxes I HAVE TO PURCHASE will hold the household goods I need to rehome. I heard one of the physical therapist in the next town, her home burned down. I know she could use these things in her rental while she waits for the insurance company to get themselves together and rebuild. Taking her things her way. Bypassing a charity company with hearing about this situation. All good stuff. I have too much. Gee if I have not used it in two years, I should not have things cluttering up My cabinets and drawers. Real estate is precious! Decluter and help another.

Tomorrow must get boxes from lowes and while I am out We will go eat pancakes! Yipeee. While I am at it, I think new shelf paper is in order. I got some not too long ago and it is padded woven white on a roll. By kitchen maid. Has anyone seen this? Told you boring stuff.

You can get free boxes from Lowe's. I know. I work there for 5 more days!!! Yes, we recycle them in a cardboard bailer, but if you ask for receiving to save you back some boxes, they will. Ask for "99" boxes. It's best to call around noon a few days before you need them. We only get boxes on truck days (the days the Lowe's distribution truck comes). Our store has trucks almost everyday Mon-Fri. Some stores only get them about every other day. Hope that helps you.

Absolutely agree!!!! 4th morning in a row it's been -20 F or worse, ENOUGH ALREADY! Although I guess I shouldn't complain. Nothing has frozen yet that can't be thawed easily and all those horrible storms have so far went well to our south and at least lately we have finally been seeing some sun this entire past week. Too cold to do anything else today so I think I will go watch the newbies get all bright eyed at the chick seminar in town

Everyone!! -4 here this morning. Heat wave coming in hi of 22f today and 31f tomorrow with 3 to 5 inches of white stuff.

Been AWOL lately. Been working on website. Been slacking on it for too long. Didn't realize how much time one would take. In the meantime I've been trying to catchup on BYC! with 18 threads and many of them moving so fast it's hard. Yesterday I tried but everytime I went to the next page it came back with "Page not found" error! Took a long time to get caught up reading one thread!
I hope in the next month I'll have more time to stay caught up here! Meanwhile missing the regular chicken conversation with everyone! I think I've even got withdrawal symptoms! Catch you all later!

Apiary, I didn't know that. Surely a liquor store would be glad to save you some boxes instead of having to tear them down? They may not be as big as you want for your purpose, but they are strong. Before I settled, "going to the liquor store for boxes" was the first order of business in a move. I even used the dividers to pack glasswear, dishes. Maybe call a couple of liquor stores, and ask if they'd save you a carload full?

Saw blue and black now I can see either in the first and second picture.... The article was neat but I closed the page so no link... I'm lazy

I see white and gold in 1st pic, blue and gold in 2nd, and black and blue in 3rd...

Neighbor, I think everyone would see what you did in the particular picture hennible posted. That particular picture does not contain the hues that the original dress contained, I think. The differences in perception among people was originally to a single picture perceived differently depending on the individual beholder. Nice reminder that one's perception may vary from anothers while looking at the same thing. (reminds me of the three blind men describing an elephant after experiencing it with their hands.)
