You know... an old rubber boot would make an excellent feeder.... just trim off the top of the toe... and fill.

They make english rubber boots too.

I saw a pic of someone using rubber boots as feeders, seemed to work okay. They're a bit ugly though... Best use I've seen for a pair of crocs was to take the "shoe" and nail it on a door and it's frame on the hinge side (on the outside of the door). Instant self closing mechanism, but still a bit ugly.

Crocs Lol! They fired the Dos Equis man after he was photographed in public wearing a tuxedo and bright orange crocs. I guess they thought the 'most interesting man in the world' should live his life with some sort of persona of the man he pretends to be. I believe they did bring him back though.

I can't find the pic, I saw it when he got fired. They must have purged the net to hide it. I guess in his contract he had to play the part in public, keep the image.

But picking them up from a feed store etc. you can see how healthy they are, and your less likely to get dead chicks. Sometimes they can be a week or two old if they don't sell, all weak chicks weeded out. That doesn't sound like the case for jem and her 'elusive' golden laced.
I had good luck with Meyer's hatchery, all strong and healthy. Praying SandHill sends strong chicks, fingers crossed.

i know my feed store was back ordered on theGLW too. Ideal must not have had a good hatch or their production stock was slow getting in motion with fertility
