any idea's anyone?

I think it's almost time. I had one who walked in and out of a bottom nest box for a week straight and another who tried every single box before she chose. LOL

They are checking out the nests. I'd say they are getting ready to lay. Do you have golf balls/fake eggs in the nests?

yes thats kinda what I thought also but no eggs they been doing it for about week two weeks.............nope no gulf balls in there havent needed to everyone all seems to have figured it out violet knows..dotty is doing it before I did the vidoe violet was on the nest box I booted her out but patty went in there with her even........ four nest boxes all exactly the same and they all fight over the first one! lol

ahh ok will try that ty : I dont have plastic eggs or gulf balls can I put a rock in?

hmm yep I will check them out dont recall them having easter stuff yet when I dashed in the other day but wasnt looking thanks bunchies great factiod to learn never heard that abotu egg showing them it's safe...I had been worrying maybe they were trying to be egg eaters or something lol both hens decided not to lay one day which was highly unusual for violet not to lay was just her forwarning to broodiness though.... I really wanna slip a chick under her...but the stories of them eating the baby chicks scared me from doing it so far

We use the wooden eggs from hobby lobby

I just stuck a couple eggs out there will return em in the morning... I was gonna order the dummy eggs off ebay just havent gotten around to it

I can check walmart dsee if they have em......otherwise I dont have anyplace local that sells em
