Dixie Chicks

Hey there, Jembo!

Good here, thanks, how are things there? How many Alabamian chicks did you end up with?

We assembled the bunny pen frame today. This thing would make a nice mini chicken run too, for maybe three or four birds.

looking awesome haha yep I thought chicken coop also............... five hatched :) this lil crean legbar chick is soooo cute the eyes are so sweet looking...... I cant wait to see the feathers on several of them lol...........My lil blue laced red wyandotte is sucha sweety...and totally in love with my buff brahma :) I think @Sharps Big 50 knew how excited I was for the brahma and didnt except the bama eggs to do anything so get had to one up bamadude with these awesomely cute buff babys! they have the cutest lil fuzzy bums!

and omg these wyandotte babys can put some feed down! I think they are always eating and getting big sooo fast.... it's funny one of the black wyandotte chicks has attached itself to the orpingtoions who are popping round like popcorn and it follows there example.... just makes me laugh watching em

if it's warm enough today I might let them out into the tractor for half hour to get a lil fresh air n grass n stuff

so I went to a chicken show the other day and not a single maran was to be had in the whole place I was sooo stunned not to see any!,.

and @hennible you got dark cornish chickens stuck in my head I "almost" came home with a white cornish and a dark cornish...and saw a buncha bantam cornish chickens at the show omgosh they are cute and have such buff lil meaty bodys...Ii could so see them as lil individual dinners

Jem, yeah... I'm in need of some more materials. I need to get the siding and roof materials, plus some more wood for the doors. It should be a pretty quick build to finish it once I get everything. The doors will take some time because they have to be painted before the net can be installed on them, but other than that, it should assemble pretty quickly. I still need to figure out how I'm making the roof, I'm trying to build it so that I could just lift it off the whole thing when I want to take down the hutch. The four wall parts come apart pretty easily. These are things we need to consider, because we're not planning on living here forever, and the next people might not be as enthusiastic about running the local zoo as we are.

are you done working on the bunny hutch for the day @vehve ?

@tntchix whatcha up to today?
Helping the oldest with schoolwork and trying to score an old octagonal end table off craigslist for a broody box. I had an epiphany for the coop since there is not a lot of floor space in mine *an enclosed end table with one of the double doors removed would work perfectly instead of a dog cage*

It looks great so far. Who wouldn't want a zoo?
