Bacon....love it. We have a butcher (as in cows and hogs are dropped off there and meat products are produced). My DH loves to go and get "bacon" cut 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch thick and grills it. Delish!

Black-eyed peas...love 'em but no one else here does so don't have them much.

Ducks....had muscovies for a year or so....didn't like the mess they made in the coop so rehomed a trio and put the others in the freezer. Very good, lean, non-fatty meat.

Welcome to newbies RavynFallen and ChickyChickens!

vehve, sorry all your hard work to achieve pups so for naught and Karin seems to be the perfect match for you. Running amok is a good counterbalance to conservative and logical.

jem, hang in there with the counseling

@vehve
 I told you it was fair game, didn't I?

@hennible
 Lucky you got chicken food! I went to the feed store on the 31st and they had run out. Delivery didn't show up either. Thankfully I had a spare bag of chicken food in the shed.I filled the 25lb feeder and put the rest into the chicken food keeper bin. The day after my chickens broke into the chicken feed container and ate about half of what was left in there...

I really should've stocked up sooner but I still haven't got the hang of how much food the larger flock eats :/

BC, yeah, but I'm still amazed at the speed she organized that...

I like your wife

DH made sure I was stocked up before he left again. I have to step over feed bags as I have nowhere to put the ones he got in the coop, but hey, no shopping for a while.:weee

Yeah I'm stocked now, don't have to go anywhere... just hunker down in the snow :(
Stupid snow...

Yep and mine free range without a schedule so it's tricky there too. I'm switching to a tote feeder that will hold a 50 lb bag instead of the two bucket feeders that leave me with an 1/8 of a bag leftover each time which drives me crazy by the way.

I won't need to store open bags this way and top off the feeder that often. Hopefully, this way I will remember how often I fill it. (yeah sure I will)

Beer, oh you meant the touchy feely stuff, yeah I can see that being a bit harder. I think one of those bolt guns would be pretty handy for that though.

I'm sure Jem will let you join, ChickyChickens!

The method I have seen on Youtube was the broom stick method.... same kind you can use for dispatching a chicken....

X2 on the baked goods. Muffins are always appreciated (especially delivered warm when the doors open) and more personal than cookies.
