ok think I know whatcha mean ya that stuff is tasty and good protien source as well, my mom got me into it she needed it for after she had her stomach sugery to keep her protien intake up.......course it has gotten very popular too..I like the texture of it and it soaks up flavors great

$14 for 12 cu ft of shavings? I pay 5.99 for 8 cu ft at TSC. I love how compressed they are in the bag. It explodes when I slice it open in the coop. *POOF* Instant bedding.
I also have a reclaimed wood shop down the road, wonder if they would trade shavings for eggs?
 
wood workers and saw mills usually have to PAY to get rid of all of their trash..... so, as long as you don't give them more work (make a mess), they would love to give you some.

Really.....
