A Finnish company just settled a case in the States, they had sold an axe where the handle doubled as a sheath for a knife, held in place by a magnet. Apparently some people had gotten hurt by it. It was the Fiskar's Gator Combo.

That's funny hubby and I have been trying to figure out how to build some sort a air driven guillotine style killing machine...some Thing where you can hold the birds upside down by their feet so they go into that very relaxed sleep like state and just insert the head and poof! off it comes

Why air driven? Mechanical will be a lot easier to build. Either use a pair of garden shears, or build something a bit more robust utilizing the same principle. You just need a bit of leverage.
