Tonight is the night to go sit in the hot tub.. Back is trying to kill me. Did I mention it's been snowing here all afternoon. Tiny flakes, but lots of it.

In Germany that would be a giant illegal nono. You have to call the local hunter, and he has to drive all the way out. I was talking to a German and he said how he had hit a deer right at his driveway. It was in agony, but not dead. He had to call the hunter, the hunter drove out, took about 30min. and saw the animal, still screaming, and said 'oops, I brought the wrong gun". by law, the hunter has to use the correct caliber gun for each animal. Also, he may never have more than the one gun he is going to use with him. Keeping guns in your can is illegal, they have to be registered and in a secure locked safe. So, yep, the hunter had to drive all the way back to his house, swap out his guns, and drive all the way back, and THEN, after the deer had been in pain for over 1.5 hours, shot it.

(again in Germany) It is also illegal to butcher, for YOUR OWN consumption, livestock, without having some kind of inspection etc. I am not clear on what exactly has to happen. But some 'stuff' does have to happen, you can't do whatever you want.

Here in Alaska you can kill whatever moose you hit, but you may NOT run off with any part of it, meat or hide. You have to call the troopers, because there is a road kill list.

And what if you're going to eat the horse? Can't do it at home either? Weird laws.

I think that is all legal in the US

hmmm hadnt thought of that as a treat could grab some of their reg feed pour the bacon fat on it then out it in there feed pan?

what about something for the scratch ? or sunflower seeds ?

I have a black rubber pan that I toss sloppy treats into.... The pellets covered in bacon grease (or other oil) goes in the pan.

Scratch and sunflower seeds I toss about to give them forced activity.
