Dixie Chicks

Al, I think the reason my vents seem to be working pretty well is that the top vents are on opposite sides of the coop, providing air to flow through the whole coop at the top, venting out all the bad air. So far, the humidity in the coop has never been above that of the outside air, and the smell that greets you when you open the door isn't offensive. But, I do agree, better to have a bit too much venting than too little. For some reason I've just managed to make it work with less.

I think we hit 30 today but it snowed all day and not much to show for it. Roads are mostly clear, won't be tonight though.

I just need the sun. My daylight lamp isn't even doing it these days.

Mine layed great thru our cold snap and short dark days, now that it has warmed up and been sunny for the last week, they stopped... think mine are backwards, or mental unstable, that fits me anyways, lol...

How many is your max gonna be?
10/15

My girls are going like gangbusters, it's the highlight of my day to go out and find a new tiny egg from a new layer like today. Thank heavens for these lil raptors. They help me keep my sanity. I think we are up to 16 ? out of 27 layers. It's too cold to stand out there and see who's laying which egg. LOL
My Sebright doesn't count cuz she only laid 3 eggs in the fall and then she stopped completely. Silly bird.

Good amount.... hmmm... moving that will be a pain in the a**... my idea, make the run separate from the coop area, if its workable, so it attaches and an extra panel to cover the open area of run when you detach to move it?? Don't know if you can do that, but those tractors always end up way heavier than what they supposedly say...

ok nini felix dont let the bed bugs bite...

ya @RavynFallen except I am going to use 2x2's for the framing...if I have to sure can scavange some wheels somwhere...the covered area will just be three sides........and think I will use thios one plastic coated super thin stuff for the sides.. we have to go back to home depot shortly mark didnt get enough treated lumber for the ramp he is making..I'll price the tin roofing for size I think probly a 8 foot pieces cutt in half for the roof will do it...and I have everything else so....that will give a four foot covered area and the other side uncovered..
