Sometimes it's the next day. Or longer.... Depends on the hen, the amount of light, how spent her resources are from having been a broody.

In other words, there's no set number...
 
some breeds are wired by "mother nature" to collect and sit on eggs. Stopping them from being broody is usually a difficult task
ya violet was broody for almost 19 days she stopped sitting in the nestbox yesterday...today would have been day 20.. Iencouraged her out of the nest box several times each day
 
IF changing the roosts REALLY upsets the chicken it might. Hens can get thrown off by lots of things...stray dogs nearby, etc. They lay when they feel comfortable and safe.
Remember, ALL animals are creatures of habit (people too!)
