Dixie Chicks

Same here, I don't even sell my eggs, just give them away

I sell mine. $2.50 dozen. I have customers on a waiting list. On Monday when I go back to work I will take 5 or 6 dozen (sell). I do give some away to family members. The profit I make doesn't usually even pay for the feed. Chickens are my addiction. Like DH smokes & drinks, I have chickens.

So here are the pictures I promised you all of the laundry room paint update. DH is happy with the change (somewhat). He says because the color is dark, it makes the room look smaller.....Ummmm.....the room IS Small! Oh Well! I like it and I am the one who spends the most time in there. I wanted to remove the shelves, but they are anchored in the wall and will leave huge holes if I pull them out.

Oh, about how quickly broodies resume laying. The one's I've managed to break have been between 2-4 weeks. Töyhtis took care of the chicks for a bit over four weeks, then started laying five days ago and abandoned the chicks completely. Virpi is still playing mommy for them. Töyhtis has laid a nice 50+ g egg every day since, although today something got messed up in the system, we got a super cute 28g egg.

Flappy is doing well, the wound is looking good. Still cleaning it twice a day with betadine and coating it with either vetramil or vetericyn.

He seems to like digging through the bedding for food more than eating from a bowl, keeps making a horrible mess in there.

heya @perchie.girl how was your day do anything exciting today?, @vehve good morning, whats on your agenda for today? :)

are you doing the same size coop as you did before @RavynFallen ? are you like doing a buncha small coops for different breeds is that the goal?

Well yesterday was status quo.... Today I take my Grandma in for injections in her eye for Wet Macular Degeneration.... I dont do hospitals so mom is going in with her... Shhhh Its my passive aggressive way to get them to interact....Mom is 80 and grandma is 98... and push each others buttons... I try to stay out of the middle. But its good for them.

Its a stressful time for me...because of it. So I sit in the car and Write or draw.. Or nap... for the three hours give or take.

Mom has one more eye to have surgery on for Cataracts that is happening on February 5 Hopefully after she recovers from that she will be able to drive her self to the store.... Once that happens I see a bit of freedom for me. Freedom to go and putter at the house.

When that happens I will be onlind only a few days a week. No internet up at the house no phones no cell phones nevermind WiFi...

I had dial up nine years ago... But technology has zoomed past that. I cant afford satelite either.

@perchie.girl Deb, love your house and property! Good ideas you got for it too. I hope you'll be able to get working on it soon.

So do I. After having a taste of the peace of living there i miss it terribly. Baby steps... I have to see that mom is a little more independant... and I know grandma is in good with just my son for company...

And if my son is good with school he starts the spring semester at San Diego State tomorrow. He just changed his major and is having anxiety moments over it all. Everything will come to a head around the beginning of February.

Hopefully I will get a couple of trips up there for the day between now and then.
