Thanks anyway, Felix... saw the post about them on the composting thread and am discussing with Jim about adding them into our plans... looks like we are definitely going with the large compost area and the buried barrel for the spring water collection you so brilliantly advised...
Sounds like all positives and great benefits to having them so prolly gonna try at least...

Oh Yeah! Meeting the breeder today

Suppose to call me around 10ish this morning. So, of course, I am up at 3am this morning

I have to get out there and try to thaw some crates! 3 roosters and 2 hens. The roosters can't travel together because they are separated at their place and it's a little over an hour drive each way. Not taking any chances. I am going to back track and try to catch up. You all are a chatty bunch

What does BSF stand for?

Black Soldier Fly... They are an unobtrusive fly, short lifespan, compost chicken poop and kitchen waste, larvae are high protein food source for chickens, and they emit a pheromone (I guess) that deters house/deer/horse flies, mosquitoes and gnats...

Will do! I gotta get pics of my rabbits too. We are up to 6 now. The original breeding pair............OH MY! We put them in a large crate together, since they had already sealed the deal on the way home. And that buck would not let the doe get a minute of rest. He dumped their food, flung the water bottle off the side, and was making such a racket! I went and got a small crate to put her in so she could get some rest

. Poor thing! They should say "Bow bow rabbit rabbit Bow Wow" Instead of chicky!

So what's going on with Deb? Her avatar is gone also?
