1) Free ranging...mine find most of their food when the ground is not covered in snow.
1a) Letting broody hens hatch and raise the chicks. No electric to run incubator and brooder plate/heat lamps.
2) Wow, hard to pick one...so many good old ones...I'll go with M*A*S*H.

Firefly Nathan Fillian is just flippin funny and the rest of the cast was awesome too.
Bablyon 5 Loved the whole Genra and not so clean and pristine future
Enterprise the one with Scott Bacula a series set before the first Startreck series... Pre Holodeck Pre shields pre warp bizzilian
Third Rock from the Sun just screamingly funny John Lithgow, Jane Curtain, French Stewart, Johseph Levitt....
