Dixie Chicks

I haven't had the time to come over to the dark side yet.. LOL

We've actually had +6 last week.. it was almost a "never before seen temperature" for this time of the year. Anyway we are in for winter #2.

Afternoon here. Got a little more snow last night got to drive to work in it. Yay! Not. Getting more today. At least it keeps it clean looking for awhile.
I didn't get to do a necropsy on Naomi. I left her out side in an empty trash can so critters couldn't getto her and the temps were cold but then it got down to 5 yesterday and I was afraid to thaw not knowing what the smell would be. But I'm thinking egg yolk peritonitis because of how she was acting the last day and her abdomen. She was one of 5 that survived the dog attack a year ago Dec. With several deep puncture wounds. Don thought that was most likely as well. Thanks again everyone for the input!!!!

Thanks everyone for the kinds words on the snow pics. Even though we're getting more snow I won't make you look at more unless of course there's something really cool. I love snow pictures. Pictures don't make me cold like the real thing!

scg so sorry about your like chicks.

Thanks BC. One thing I've decided to do is to redo my sick bay in the coop so those that aren't contagious aren't far from the rest. And set up a place in my (unheated) sunroom that I can do some sort of necropsy at. I think I would have had better luck with her if she could've stayed out there with the rest but the automatic/main pop door is in the sick bay so I need to move that. Every year I come up with improvements, I think why didn't I think of that sooner!

Deb, I hope things calm down soon so that you can get back to writing. How's the kid liking his new major?

Hes on the fence right now... Not liking the fact that hes back in with freshmen... LOL.
he had a big scare on Monday... went in to the ER with chest pains... Panic attack.. So right now hes chillin a bit. I cant write too much more because its his personal info.

Cinderblocks are nice as long as you don't get long heatwaves. If you get a couple of weeks of extra warm weather, the house will heat up.

Interesting.... cinderblock is a common construction medium in the desert... the air space is a good insulator.

Of course in the desert the roof will be done differently... Larger eves to shade the walls better.
