Jem, literally digging it. I just laid the foundation, Karin needs to stop by the hardware store on her way home and pick up four more blocks, then I think I'll pour a dab of cement in there just around the seams to make it a bit more stable.







The bottom is now netted, and the pit is almost a foot deep. I'm going to fill it with soil back to ground level, so the bunnies will have something to dig around in a bit.

Sam, no way. Your ground is even more frozen than ours, and I'm very happy I've finished the digging part of this exercise. I still need to fill the pit, but that should be a lot less work. There were some pretty big rocks in there that I had to move too, I think I spent an hour on just one rock today.

On the positive side, my biceps and other upper body muscles are growing nicely. That's a welcome surprise.

But I bet Punky would love to do some digging for you...

@vevhe... impressive bunny fort knox foundation you got going there. I'm loving your raised bed prep too. In Cajun cooking, the recipes usually start with "first you make a roux." Gardening seems to start with "First you dig a hole." Yours rock.

It never ceases to amaze me at how people can get dirt level with a shovel... I know you have a level but still...

when i made my turtle pond out of cinder block I used the mortorless kind they have a groove along the top to lay Rebar in ... But its wide enough for a two by three to use as a top plate.... Mortorless Cinderblock is designed to be filled with concrete.

Mahen, I'm going overboard again... this was going to be a 100 euro quick build. The foundation has been more than that already... I think it's going to be about 300 euros when it's done, and in reality, about 400. But on the other hand, a bunny costs about 20 euros in the store. I only need about 4-5 litters for it to break even, including feed.

Well I can eat them, once they grow, because its better than letting a bunch of drakes run wild and over breed the girls... I'll be keeping the hens though. This time I will not over cook the duck!
