Do you have any or planning to get some? The appleyard person has some too. I might have to wait for appleyard eggs for up to 2 weeks, but I could get kayuga right away. I am hoping he can compromise. 3 kayuga and 4 silver appleyard eggs!

Lol, missed your previous post, I thought youall were talking about those other ducks that lay black eggs.

I imagine so, upstate NY tends to have artic weather.
Now I can't find the other breed that lays black, googled it and only get the Cayuga, someone mentioned it on here, either jem or minihorse I think.
 
my poor dh doen't know what hit him yet.... first 7 ducks and then 12 quail I plan to hatch and I haven't mentioned the addional 6 chanteclers I am getting this year...

but I am getting rid of 2 black orpington roosters!
 
Yes, cayuga and black east indies should always lay black eggs at the beginning kf their laying cycle.

I however have an ancona duck that does lay a black egg. It has lightened with the cycle.
