Yup Al, that bay keeps it nice and stable... same here. That's why daytime and night temps are pretty much the same when the sun isn't beaming down like crazy. Last week up in Lapland we had a 20 C difference between night and day, while it's only a 2 C difference down here in the south.

Thank you!
I followed it well enough in my current state of haze :)
you're welcome. .
lol...

Oh, think one of my call babies is silver/lavender... she said some say silver, some say lavender...
How much you selling that silver pair for??
silver and lavender are 2 different things. Silver is genetically a black bird with 2 copies of blue, just like splash in chickens. Lavender is a black bird with 1 copy of blue and 1 copy of chocolate.

My silver are 2 hens so there is no drake. I do have a couple blue bibbed I could let go with them.

The lawn is about 80% clear now!

I've been on the phone figuring out what it will cost to get an excavator here. It seems our neighbors didn't like the fact that we didn't want them putting up a 9 foot fence on the border, and wanted it to be only a bit over 5 feet, so now they're thinking about how they can get back at us for calling the building inspector. (At first we agreed on a brown, light structure for the fence, and I communicated verbally about 10 times that we want a written agreement on it, over a time of 4 months. Then the fence came up, 9 feet tall in some places, and it's white and it's only about 20% see through. We then expressed our displeasure in written form, which they ignored, two months later we contacted the building inspector, and finally they had to agree to shorten the fence and paint it brown).

So now, the stone wall supporting our parking lot which is about 2 feet above the level of their driveway has become a problem. Originally it was built on this lot, but the plot has been split into 4 smaller lots, and a segment has been sold to the troublesome neighbor, so now about a yard of our parking lot is on their property. I have spoken to the neighbor about it earlier, he said he had no issue with it, and he likes the way it looks. But due to the fence issues, they have now started to think of ways to irritate us. So now this wall needs to be moved a meter.

I don't think it will look as nice afterwards, but I'd rather get the excavator in to move the wall, it will upset the neighbor more because he only has a hidden agenda about it, he's hoping we would let him keep his Great Wall. All this from someone who originally built that car port you see so that it was only half on their property. They have since bought a segment so that it sits in their property completely now, but still.

I think all this started with them getting upset with us about their bushes. Bushes that were also planted about 3 yards in on our property. Bushes we had no idea were originally planted by them. Our next door neighbor trimmed them or something, and that was what ignited the situation. We didn't live here then yet.

Morning everyone!

Let's see if I can remember;
I use the jute string off my hay bales to tie up my tomatoes.
love all the pics
Vehve-are you sure that bunny isn't just digging an escape tunnel?

We actually have a warm, sunny morning and last night's predicted snow totally missed us!

Alaskan-that is one thing I am NOT going to miss about moving away (probably the only thing honestly)
Our DSL has been getting slower and slower yet our rate keeps going up. Used to be I was the only one
in the area with a computer but of course just about everyone does now and the phone company won't upgrade
our VERY old phone lines. used to be like a trickle of water going thru huge pipe.
Now it's like an open faucet trying to flow thru a straw

and of course it only gets worse in summer when all the city vacationers invade.

Going outside now to dig stuff out of the first shed. It's dump day and the clean out begins!

Chicki, I don't know, but hopefully she won't be able to. There's cinder block all the way around, and net on the bottom. What I'm worried about is that I didn't attach the net to the cinder blocks, so basically she could brush off dirt through the net, and slowly make enough room to squeeze between it and the concrete. I'm hoping she won't though. Also, I think she's made a turn towards the middle.

Okay, I've been planning my tomato setup a bit further in my head. I'm thinking of digging a small ditch and lining it with a pond liner, then placing plywood on top with a little hole cut out where the pots go. That way I could have a lot of water underneath the plants for a self watering system. Then I could just make a trellis setup to support the plants. Maybe I could build them so that the supports can be made longer as the plants grow, that way I could cover them up with plastic in the beginning of the season but it wouldn't be so ugly, since it wouldn't be that tall. Plus, the wind wouldn't be as rough on it.

I'll have to see what Karin thinks about this idea of digging up the yard a bit...

Not the best pics.... They are a little up in your face first thing in the morning.... Not sure how I'm going to eat these hand fed kids... Oops
They have just started to quack.
Any way some are F1 some are F2... Id have to look at my notes to see who's what percentage what....

Quote: I adored that roo. He's still the most beautiful roo I've ever had... after his dad. His dad had brighter colors, if you can believe that. The roo in the pic had one default, but for the most part he was perfect for his bloodline. One of his spurs twisted upward. He tried to attack my Mallard drake over one of the hens and hurt himself. Never did that again, but we moved Mal out after that.

Aw, so cute. I hate brooding ducks.

I'm not sure if all ducks (Mallard derived anyway) are the same as Mallards, but the early quackers are usually female.
