Not the best pics.... They are a little up in your face first thing in the morning.... Not sure how I'm going to eat these hand fed kids... Oops
They have just started to quack.
Any way some are F1 some are F2... Id have to look at my notes to see who's what percentage what....
quackers are girls. The one you call Fawn looks to be blue pencilled.

Adorable little duckies.

Hilma is apparently finished with her tunneling. While I was at the store, Karin checked on her, and she was just finishing up covering the entrance. I think we're going to be witnessing something very cool, she's going to give birth in there, leave them in the tunnel, and cover it up between feedings. I saw a video of a bunny doing that, but if we'll get to experience that with our first litter live, it will be pretty cool.

Well if the vocal sexing holds true I'm very lucky to have a single drake... The only baby at just shy of 3 weeks not quacking is the one with the most feminine name... Fawn... Not counting my hens yet though... I could be hearing things....

Yeah, one of those cams they check drains with... I hope she actually is preggers, apparently if they start nesting too early it's a sign it didn't take. And the owner of the buck was supposed to get a litter on her own doe a week ago, but the kits were a no show. So there's a risk he's shooting blanks. I guess we'll know in about ten days. Karin wasn't willing to do an ultra on Hilma

Something about having to shave the tummy not being good when she's out in the cold... I hope the nest will be warm enough though, the ground is still pretty cold. She'll have to insulate properly.

By the way, is it clear from my writing that I usually talk pretty fast and people have trouble following me? I tend to swoop back and forth between my thoughts and I'm already a few sentences ahead by the time I've written something.

I do the same thing. It's the reason I lose track of what I'm talking about.

The lawn is about 80% clear now!

I've been on the phone figuring out what it will cost to get an excavator here. It seems our neighbors didn't like the fact that we didn't want them putting up a 9 foot fence on the border, and wanted it to be only a bit over 5 feet, so now they're thinking about how they can get back at us for calling the building inspector. (At first we agreed on a brown, light structure for the fence, and I communicated verbally about 10 times that we want a written agreement on it, over a time of 4 months. Then the fence came up, 9 feet tall in some places, and it's white and it's only about 20% see through. We then expressed our displeasure in written form, which they ignored, two months later we contacted the building inspector, and finally they had to agree to shorten the fence and paint it brown).

So now, the stone wall supporting our parking lot which is about 2 feet above the level of their driveway has become a problem. Originally it was built on this lot, but the plot has been split into 4 smaller lots, and a segment has been sold to the troublesome neighbor, so now about a yard of our parking lot is on their property. I have spoken to the neighbor about it earlier, he said he had no issue with it, and he likes the way it looks. But due to the fence issues, they have now started to think of ways to irritate us. So now this wall needs to be moved a meter.

I don't think it will look as nice afterwards, but I'd rather get the excavator in to move the wall, it will upset the neighbor more because he only has a hidden agenda about it, he's hoping we would let him keep his Great Wall. All this from someone who originally built that car port you see so that it was only half on their property. They have since bought a segment so that it sits in their property completely now, but still.

I think all this started with them getting upset with us about their bushes. Bushes that were also planted about 3 yards in on our property. Bushes we had no idea were originally planted by them. Our next door neighbor trimmed them or something, and that was what ignited the situation. We didn't live here then yet.
