Dixie Chicks

Very cute little fluffnuggets, Alaskan!!!

:hugs for the losses... what the flock is going on this year with incubating?

Oh, and I know how to tell your wheatens from the new ones... they should have gold plating from the golden eggs... ;)

Snapping turtles are laying eggs in my watermelon/cantelope patch, lost a few plants.

I have my trail cam set up down there now set on video, maybe I'll get a vid of a giant snapper laying eggs.
Checked this morning, all I had on it was birds and the neighbors dog cocking his leg and peeing on the camera.

@hennible seriously thinking of a greenhouse. I pm'd a guy in PA asking him if he still had Malay, I know someone looking for some. I always wondered how they did in our cold winters. He said he keeps them in his greenhouse in winter, that's so cool, never thought of doing that.

Bamadude,

Detached air cell eggs do hatch.  They just need a little more TLC.  The ones that are problematic are where the air bubble/cell travels freely throughout the whole egg.  Those have never done any developing for me.

Stick it in the bator and see if anything develops.  If it does, then hatch in a carton with the largest part of the air cell up (kind of like turning your face to the sun).

Good luck!   I know it's a special egg for you.

:fl

Thanks peep

Careful with snapping turtles!

Vehve: what's the final count on rabbit babies? I started reading up on keeping rabbits in breeding colonies yesterday. Bad me, bad me. I do not need more animals...ha-ha

We tried our first duck eggs today. I didn't find my cooking rubbery but it was actually quite good! Yolk was much lighter in colour then the chixken egg. this is the duck egg next to chicken egg.
