I like to do up turtle like fried chicken, boil till tender first though. The meat in the back under its 'ribs' tastes like lobster, I just fry them 'loins' in a little butter.
Wish we had those alligator ones they can get monstrous. There is a regular snapper in the neighbors pond, sometimes in mine the size of a garbage can top. I haven't been able to catch it, mangles wire leaders and spits out big treble hooks. Now it won't bite. Going to try a turtle trap next.

@hennible seriously thinking of a greenhouse. I pm'd a guy in PA asking him if he still had Malay, I know someone looking for some. I always wondered how they did in our cold winters. He said he keeps them in his greenhouse in winter, that's so cool, never thought of doing that.

Awesome, I had cold crops still alive in November here. You may be able to grow year round with the right set up.

I heard it tasted like pork.

Pretty sure I lost my Cayuga female... Just want to cry. She was pretty! No sign of her, the Drake returned to their run, the female did not.. Really really hope she's just hiding well somewhere
