Good morning all! Here's my rant for the day........ I hate people that troll on BYC. Really? They have nothing better to do than to hack a CHICKEN website??? Reported one this morning that was very nasty. (Not on this thread.

It poured down rain last night/this morning.

Rain, rain, more rain. I woke up at 12am to hear it pelleting on the windows. So, I checked the news for tornados. We had a flash flood watch & severe thunderstorm warning. My poor chickens are turning into ducks. One pullet got trampled in the muck yesterday and died

. A few are having upper respiratory issues due to all the dampness. Today when I get home from work, there is much work to be done at the coop. I just put down 2 bales of straw & now that has turned into slop.

Well, I don't have time to catch up this morning. Gotta get ready for work. Boss is doing a review today....

Hoping all goes well. I really need full time sometime very soon! Out of pocket insurance is off the hook expensive! Have a great day everyone.

Yay for drive in theatres. Tuning into a radio station..how does that work when the newer cars shut off their electronics after 15 minutes of having their engines off

Figured there was purina something there, bet they make a generic store name brand also.

Do new cars shut down even with the key on accessory? Could explain the young couple next to us leaving their car running through the whole movie last week. It wasn't loud but super annoying. "Ahem! would be nice if they would SHUT their car off" Had to move our chairs to the other side of our vehicle. They were setting inside theirs parked backwards with the hatch open making out, I was hoping they were going to get carbon monoxide poisoning.... I wanted to drag him out of his car and ask him "Dude, do you hear anyone else's car running?!!"

My truck is 3 years old and it shuts off after 15 minutes when the engine is off, but key in the "on" position.

Outpost, we had rain too! Glorious rain! Got over 2 inches last night. The mosquitos arent' pretty this morning but the rain was soooo needed.


No more hatches over night. But, I did sneak the lid open and grabbed an egg for candling this morning. It was internally pipped with lots of movement. Maybe there will be more hatches tonight.

even this morning it's still not fluffed out. The first little Tennessee Red quail

Still need to finish the top of of the run and predator fencing on the top but started the backfill along the bottom.

Y'all with the quail sexing....  There was a lot of low-hanging fruit comments about one-handedness and filming quail bits.  I sat on my hands lest I get slapped again for mentioning the "P" four-letter word.

The flick was interesting, though.  Made my DH squirm.

Purina always amazes.  Any kind of animal and they've made a Chow for it.  Trout Chow anyone?   Seriously, they have it.

Probably for a reason. But then lots of other garbage dog food is available.
My dog gets west coast canine life. I know the person that came up with the formulas (she actually just got an honorary doctor from the university of Guelph) as well as the lady who makes it. I have never seen anyone pit this much effort into finding the right quality of ingredients. Amazing!!

Well, I sexed my 2 oldest quail. It appears to be 1 male, 1 female. :-D the female is quite large, could barely hold her with one hand.

The tr hatch has also started. One out so far and a loud chirper!hopefully more will follow over night

I guess the 50/50 chance played out well for getting a pair out of this. Time to start researching quail colour genetics. Nothing fancy in the 8 I have except for the nearly all white.. Size seems decent.

Somewhat. haha, they use it to get in and out. It's funny how much they enjoy that water. The chickens watch in disgust, but come right up for a drink out of it. No more worries about them all running out of water during the day.

DH installed a kitchen sink drain in the bottom of the pool. So when the water is dirty, I pull the plug and all of it drains! DH, he's a smart one!

Poor Lady Gray, some day she'll forgive those young boys!
