Dixie Chicks

What's. ..

Have ad up for chicks...

Are they still available?
Yes
How much?
(Price is listed, I repeat and offer deal depending on how many)
What is the deal?
How many you want?
5 hens, maybe more. Is that too many?
Have chicks, not hens.
Oh, ok. What is deal?
I repeat, how many of which ones?

Arg!!!!

I think that is just any for sale ads  i had one person say they want my ducklings... But then they don't give me an ETA... They say they are trying to arrange transport (they live about 12 hours away) ... I asked if they had figured it out yet... They said no... I said that if they couldn't figure it out I needed to know, because I kinda wanted to sell the ducklings......

THAT still isn't straight by the way...

Then I try to sell a quad of bantams, someone says they want them... I say all of them? (There was an option of the quad plus one), they kinda said yes... But said they didn't want the rooster.... Just so unclear....

I ask for clarification, they don't respond... The next day a second person asks if they are still available... i answer I think so.....

Anyway, I contacted person one, said that I was selling to person two... Since they were talking to me and finalizing things.... Person prtty much said that yep... They had changed their mind... Just hadn't told me yet.

Gah, 2 toms!!

You could always be like those people we hear about... And just keep two males for a couple years wondering why you have no eggs. :D

I may get sent to the hoosegow for this, but is anybody else bothered by the fact that the spokesperson in the Coop Construction Tips article in the rotating headline banner is claiming that they designed the coops when it is obvious that the coops referenced are ones built by GreenChickenCoops a/k/a Frontier Chicken Coops?   It just struck me as odd that a large feed company (and BYC sponsor) that most likely has a Legal Dept. would blatantly post something like that.   It doesn't read "When looking at coop design" but "When we designed our coops."     Just sayin'......

I hate all stuff like that..... But I also have issues with advertisers... Which I know is bad.... Since they are the ones that support this place.... I don't mind their banners and such... But the "listen to the wise advertiser and all his stuff" articles make me want to puke.

tough call. Not sure, how much comb do they normally get?

Turkey question: do females also "show off" their tail feathers when strangers approach their run?
mine doesnt strutt like the tom but I have seen her spread her tail... I thought two toms when I saw your turkeys..but I have seen noodle fan her tail when the chickens get on her nerves

Hmm, so still not sure if mine are male/female or male/male.
Mine were either reacting to my dh or each other or the dog.
What do you think:

All these turkey pics makes me want TURKEYS!!! Possibly next spring. Maybe I can mail order & tell DH the turkey was "packing peanuts".....LOL!

I couldn't sleep last night. Now got to get ready for work & my back is killing me.

At least I have a short day at work. Bright side.

Yesterday we got a lot done (cleaning) back at the coop. But there's still standing water EVERYWHERE! I was so happy to see the sun yesterday. Yes, it rained, but the sun made an appearance as well. It's so sloppy out there that in the isolation coop, one of the pullets got trampled & died Sunday.

My review at work went good yesterday. It's a scheduled review, not a raise type review.......but it still went well. You all have a great day

Upate on quail hatch. 4 out now. Helped two, both zipped, but looked like the zip was too small for them to get out through. Since there are other quails babies tripping over it, the shell beside the zip becomes broken too. So, pulled that off and within seconds the 2 babies popped out, just like popcorn. 3 more to go.
