So sorry you are going through all this. Hope things look up soon for you and your family. Take care. Hope it's a good meeting.
A very real and sincere X2

BC, sounds like me last yr trying to figure out how my mountain cur got a huge gash in his shoulder. I tried to eliminate all sharp looking spots on his dog house. Any nails, metal flashing on the porch (yeah his dog house is nice, has a porch) he dug under the house, all sharp rocks were bashed by hammer. I don't know how it happened but I eliminated all suspects. I now swear by Lambert Kay EMT gel from TSC, collagen gel, it is amazing on wounds. The dog should have had stiches and $$$ poured into him. That stuff healed it up like you wouldn't have believed, no scar either. And is ok to use on mammals and birds, chickens even reptiles.
I wonder if that stuff is available in Canada. Glad your dog is ok, but did you ever figure out what he got into? Injured quail #1 will be going in with the older pair just before lights out tonight. Injured quail #2 still looked bad this morning. #1 might be picking tho..

@Outpost JWB my coworker sells her eggs here at work for $2/dozen. Too cheap in my opinion but I followed for the occasional dozen I sell on the office side. I do not sell my eggs here on our shop side. DH sells most of our eggs for $2/dozen at his work.
When I did have duck eggs and quail eggs to sell, they were in the $3-4 a dozen.

When I was in Victoria, BC (where a lot of people are into the "green thing", "organic thing" and the hippies live) and a dozen duck eggs went for $9 in an all organic store.

yikes, shop cat just devoured a mouse with a 4" tail on it. Never seen a mouse with a tail that long. This just after he ate a chipmunk last night. He's a good cat and catches lots of things.
His dish is right behind my desk and he likes to put dead things into his dish for eating. I can hear the initial skull crunching bite every time among other bones breaking during his caught meals.

In other good news, I rehomed my 2nd turkey tom last night.

:hugs @ApiaryandAviary. I wish you and your family the best and will keep your son in our thoughts.

@BriardChickens, don't you just love all the little gifts barn cats bring? :sick

@Beer can, live the pic of the chicks. Glad they're growing well. They do look like they're getting big now.

@juleschicks, hello!

My welsummer juveniles are as crazy as the mad hatter. So are the leghorns, but that's normal leghorn behavior.

BriardChickens:
Someone somewhere did an analysis and discovered that mice are the perfectly balanced food for cats! Unfortunately, canned mice are never going to hit the pet food aisle shelves for obvious reasons. Your cat must be quite healthy. (Good kitty! Now go find another mouse.)

At the end of the week there's usually two dozen extra eggs available from my girls. They're snatched up as soon as I walk through the door at coffee klatsch. Funny to walk in and all sorts of hands shoot up from the table "Me! Me! I want eggs!" I could easily sell 5 dozen. They're Large to Jumbo and a nice assortment of browns, creams and greens. Price is $2.50/dozen, but going up to $3 at the end of the month.

Our Welsummer juvie girls are THE loudest things. All bawk talk. I cannot imagine how noisy they'll be once the egg songs start. (need emoticon of hands over ears)

Looks like he will be here a while longer, thank you.
