Dixie Chicks

I would like to say something helpful.... But nah, nothing good in my brain.

I remember thinking when my first was born, that kids really didn't cost that much, as long as they were breastfed and you bought their clothes at thrift stores.

But wowsers.... I now have two kids In braces (price of a NICE used car, or a very basic brand new one!!!! :barnie )

And now I have FOUR of my kids in the most expensive contacts ever made! :hit truly.... They are fancy hard contacts that they wear only at night, it smashes their eyes to help the eyes NOT keep changing, so that they hopefully do not end up with vision as bad as their parents (I think 9 and 17 diopters... Not kidding)

One of my kids is on the edge though... Maybe only one more year, and then he might have to stop them.... Yep less money for me, but I sure do hope he has had these fancy ones in long enough so that his vision never gets quite as bad as his parents.

See, you all know!

I'm off work today! This "part time 5-6day a week job" is stressing me out too. Either give me full time, or don't work me full time.....Right? Back to what I was saying.....I'm off work today! Yeah! Have to get housework done, meet a friend for breakfast, if it cools down I might get the gumption to send 4 roosters to freezer camp. We also have 7 rabbits that need to go there. I need to make a guillotine. That would be so much more fun than the other ways. Does anyone use the cone method? The roosters don't bother me like the rabbits do. DH said he would process them, but it's not happened yet. One thing I have learned is that I do NOT want to feed freeloaders during the winter.

@seminolewind and @JulesChicks , not sure how I could live without my morning coffee. I wake up between 4am and 5am depending on what I have going on that day. I only drink 2- 8oz coffee cups worth and I'm done drinking coffee by 6am. I drink lots of water throughout the day. That is all the caffeine I drink. No soda or tea most days. Only at an occasional party. If I don't drink the coffee in the morning I get a massive headache. I've skipped coffee due to running late, whatever and by 10am I am ready to cry! My anticipated bedtime is always 10pm. I never make it there earlier, but mostly later. I don't think I could sleep a full 8 hours. I would be laying there for at least 2 hours wondering why I was laying there when there is so much I have to do.

You all have a good day!

Mine had braces when he was in grade school... Man his teeth were all over the place. the idea was to get them going straight then take the braces off till he was about fourteen. His teeth straightend out so well we didnt go back. He was in them for about a year then in a retainer for about a year... they are a bit crookedy now but like a normal mouth that never saw braces.... good bite and he can floss were both happy.

we didnt find out about his eyes till he was almost done with grade school. He inherited sperm donors eyes... Um his dads eyes. He wont do Lasik hes happy with glasses. Oh well.

I simply cannot imagine having six to tend....for all of the above. but then I am a single OLDER parent. If I had been married I probably would have at least four if not more...

Since I upped the protein to 18% my girls have been laying the best they ever did.  Especially my Polish-they have been real steady and regular.  Even my 8 year old hen has laid an egg.

This has been a carppy week.  The air  conditioner went. $5k.  My cell phone died. $240.00 and they didn't move my phone list!  My laptop went to some college kid because the one he bought from me was taking too long to reset, my computer guy dragging his arse.  So I needed a laptop.  Bought a nice Toshiba.  Piece of junk so I sent it back.  Have a Lenovo coming that I cancelled then groveled to send it again.  So, lousy week.  I have a stress test and an echo this week.  I had to get new glasses because I can't see with these anymore.  I don't think Calgon is going to help.  I need one or two of those fancy Margaritas from Chili's or Applebys.  Yum.

I switch between layer and grower right now on alternating bags. The silly turkeys kept popping into the oyster shells that were out for the hens so decided on the compromise and switch feeds. I mean a bag of food lasts a week here, so hopefully everyone's needs get covered somewhat.

Oh yea, I've always kept the chicken feed covered at night.  But the rats have gotten smart and come earlier .  Time for more poison bait.

Eew, rats. We only have mice here. What do you do against rats beside poison?

Dh and I did a quick trip into the big city today. 3 1/2 hrs one way. We didn't linger after my appointment and went straight back home after. Decided to keep cleaning up this property and did yet another big fire to burn some left over scrap wood. ( don't hit me Alaskan). Had a little piece of Amber fly down my shirt and now sport 3 little burn blisters on the left you know what. Couldn't get the darn thing out fast enough.
The good news is, everything we wanted to burn is burnt.
