Keep it up Felix and you'll be as flexible as me, I can put my palms on the floor... But then again I'm a lot closer to floor level than you. Lol.

I added a silkie roo to the flock. Making for 2 chickens and bunch of ducks. Thought I had a line on some girls to go with my two boys but sadly that fell through. I'll keep looking.

Bet you can't put your hands to the floor in about six months or less, lol!

Silkie roo, dang, that's all I have for a roo right now, those giant cockerels have just started pathetically trying to crow, I already separated them, they would have given him a run for his money eventually...lol. They weigh less than him right now but they are twice his size and eventually should be twice his weight....

Well, the splits are a long way off still...

Hi everyone
Just to keep you posted, we culled the chick today

and then found a second hen dead in the coop. I'm praying it's a coincidence as the second hen was much older & had been quiet & withdrawn for weeks, also she showed no similar symptoms, but I'm very much remaining on guard. What a rubbish day. Thank you for your advice last night xxx

Welcome to Dixie Chicks Paulandannmarie! I hope I don't upset you, but I 'cull' at the first sings of sickness, can not afford it to affect the rest of the flock. I see a sick chicken and it might as well be the plague, they disappear..

Morning all. I'd have to agree with culling on 1st signs of sickness to a point. Typically the birds have already walked where the sick bird has walked, has ate out of the same food pan, drank out of the same water container and slept on the same roosting pole. I have tried treating with antibiotics. With MG, they do get better. Only for a matter of time. I've been loosing about one a week now instead of 2 a day. I'm not culling at this point, just letting nature take it's course. None of them are suffering either. If it comes to that, I will cull in a second.

Gotta move the couch to the other side of the room and flip back the carpet. Empty some cabinets in the kitchen and box up the dishes this morning before work. Construction guys are coming later today and I work all day. Tonight is my last night here in my peaceful home because I will be staying at mom and dad's helping them out for a month of pure heck. Hoping it doesn't kill me-I am totally dreading every second of it.

That's so sad, I have another sick one this morning, I want to cry. I fear it's to late for my ladies. It's so hard as I just love them. I think I'm going to have to toughen up if I'm going to continue with chicken keeping.
Would you eat their eggs at this point?

Mine are not on medication now and have not been for months. I do eat the eggs. I do not eat the bird even though I know what it died from. Do you know what yours has? Have they been wormed? I'm so sorry for you.

Outpost, do you know what's going on with your chickens? Mine was just the two, everyone else has been good. Thought for sure it was mareks and they were going to drop like flies cause like you said they've already been exposed.

Oh crappy Annmarie... Hugs. Is there a vet that deals with chickens near you? You might want to know what is getting them because some issues will keep living on in your coop or soil, even after all the birds have passed... With some reaserch though you could probably come to a solid conclusion yourself.

@Beer can last time I could still touch my toes and do a back bend at 7 months, lol...
Probably not the best for the kid though... Kinda squishes them... By 8 months I won't even be able to two my own shoes though... Crud.

you would have loved it. It was in the late sixties early seventies back when Hackney ponies were all the rage... hackney horses too. They had both divisions at that horse show.
