-40 to -46 here , extreme cold warnings issued a few times in the last few weeks ............I so hate the cold !

Haven't seen that one. Have you watched 'no reservations' with Anthony Bourdain? Wasn't on food network, he chain smokes and drinks in every episode, and they have to bleep out some of his words. Awesome shows, a lot like the 'bizzare foods' show.

And Bizzare Foods. Awesome. I actually had an Andrew Zimmern moment at the sushi place we go to.
I asked the Sushi Chef who is Thai by the way if he had Topiko... which is flying fish roe. He didnt understand Topiko so i tried to describe the fish... AH he said and nodded we have.... he fired off an order to the kitchen....

I thought Uh Oh... about ten minutes later a plate of french fries came out with dipping sauce... Frys with Eyes..... Whole fish about the size of a french fry breaded up and fried crispy head and all. In order to not offend I said Oooh Thank you.... and gave it a taste. Fishy but yummy.... Dean and I polished it off.

A couple of days later I talked to his wife who speaks and understands English a little more in depth.... She laughed apparently The fish were his favorite snack and not even on the menu....

I recognised the species too. A form of Goby....
