Dixie Chicks

@ApiaryandAviary I'm guessing there are differences between brands, but most of the stucco wire I've seen here looks like it's pretty much the same zinc coated steel stuff.

Tara, that was actually a pretty ok movie, but as for the bird watchers not doing any harm, I'm not agreeing with you. We had some rare bird here about half a kilometer from the house, took up a spot by some dirt hole that had filled with water. For three weeks, every day you had like 40 cars parked near that hole. blocking traffic and people running across the road without looking to see if there's a car coming. Crazy birdwatchers.

and how come @RavynFallen
hasnt been posting chick pictures?!!?!? dun she know we are needing chick pictures :D

Ummmm... haven't hatched chicks in a while... been hatching these...

Being a Giant, nobody argues with where you want to roost... :gig

Nice fishing shanty's Tara. I don't use one unless it's so cold the beer turns to a slushie. We use a dome tent with the bottom cut out. Amazing how much heat a propane lantern puts off, in a t-shirt in below zero F.

Eh, I lost all my replies while I was gone. The rabbit, the Dom hen, and 2 of the silkies are gone. Turns out I had 3 silkie roos. One of them decided to crow this morning and it was the weirdest thing. I guess I'll have to get used to that crow!

So good topic, what does everyone do to prep their chickens, ducks, exotic emus or whatever for collecting eggs to hatch? how long do you prep for what do you look for when prepping your chooks?

FF lots of green treats, nutritional yeast. A few weeks before... I only hatched from my own chickens the once though. Next time I do hatch from my own birds I'll do it when they're getting out free ranging on something other than snow.

Thats where mine site, screw the perches they say, we have rafters... I'll have to put up something wider for them, so they don't get frozen feet. Been lucky so far, mild winter.

Dang...I was hoping a PUPular bird would not bring out FORTY of the crazed ones...oh well... The bird can always fly away!!
