Speckled Sussex. I am giving them ONE more year. I've had Sue since he was a chick 3 years ago. I've bought several chicks and just had bad luck with predators, disease, sour crop, you name it. Just bad luck. DH is not thrilled that I ordered some this year. He feels the breed obviously is weak. I am hoping it's just been bad bloodlines, bad luck. We'll see. Sue has plenty of grown babies out there, they are mixed, but healthy and thriving.

I use Mason jars to store my sourdough bread starter in the frig. Also use them to store noodles, homegrown popcorn, beans, sugar, flour, just about anything. I just bought some beautiful purple Mason jars
