Wow! I didn't know any of that about pineapple.
I was thinking of trying to grow artichokes here, then I found out the plants are huge... Well maybe cardoons, I hear they taste like artichokes. They get huge also...
Pumpkins, winter squash and melons take up enough room, don't think I need to add more big plants with everything else I grow.

But you can use them as an anti personnel fence..... LOL. since they are a species of Thistle.

yes the mother in law tongue or snake plant was given to me by a good friend from canada from a cutting off her and her mothers plant got it about 4/5 years ago as a nub... the pineapples about a year now.. I just transplanted it from the pint pot it was in to that pot this winter it's taken off this winter...started it from a dole top

My favorite "pretty" plant to grow in the garden is okra. The blooms are so beautiful.

I also love growing Brussel sprouts. In the middle of winter all covered in snow, and little Brussels growing all over the stems. So cool.

My cabbage is actually doing something now. Hardly did a thing all winter. It gets warmer and suddenly you can tell what they are. My carrots are the same way. They've been in a protected bed since November. Not they're finally getting some size to them. I planted some peas around the same time and they managed to survive winter. Now they're blooming and growing peas. It's almost time to start planting pepper.
